Press Stillwater, Oklahoma December 27, 2007 Rosalie P. "Rosie" [Cowan] Day Dearinger January 2, 1932 ~ December 24, 2007 Rosalie P. Dearinger was born Jan. 2, 1932, in McClain, the youngest of 13 children to Abraham Robison Cowan and Martha Delia Moran Cowan. She passed from this life Monday, Dec. 24, 2007, in Stillwater Medical Center, Stillwater, having reached the age of 75 years, 11 months and 22 days. She married John Dearinger in 1982 in Stillwater. She was an avid bird watcher, and the squirrels ate out of her hands. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening and canned all of her vegetables from the garden. She enjoyed taking care of her water garden and won two awards for Best Water Garden in a row. She was director of the Junior High Cheerleading Squad and sponsored the little league baseball and football teams. She was a fan of all sports and dearly loved all her pets, but what she treasured most, were her children and grandchildren. She worked as a bookkeeper for Purity Drug Stores and also worked as a secretary for an anesthetists doctors group in Muskogee. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Pawnee. "Darlin, we'll miss you." Rosalie is survived by husband, John Dearinger, Stillwater; daughter, Finny Stilley and her husband, David, Kansas City, Mo.; son, David Day and his wife, Angie, Little Rock, Ark.; two stepsons, Tom Dearinger and his wife, Kathy, Stillwater and Rick Dearinger and his wife, Sue, Glencoe; stepdaughter, Diane Brock and her husband, Kirby, Stillwater; 13 grandchildren, Sara, Christopher, Adam, Katie Rose, Lea, Steven, Amy, Brett, Chase, Amanda, Autumn, Camaron and Brennon; nine great grandchildren, Nathan, Moiraine, Skylar, Dylon, Hunter, Avery, Ashlee, Maggie and Maycie, plus a number of other relatives and many friends. Rosalie was preceded in death by her parents and 12 brothers and sisters. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the First Presbyterian Church, Stillwater, with Pastor Gordon Edwards officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Stillwater, under the direction of Poteet Funeral Home, Pawnee. |
