November 7, 1908 ~ February 22, 2003

Edrie C. Davis, 94, died in Grace Living Center Saturday, Saturday, Feb. 22, 2003.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Colonial Chapel Funeral Home with Dr. William Inglish officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens under the direction of Colonial Chapel Funeral Home.

Davis was born Nov. 7, 1908, in Latham, Kan., to Nathaniel L. and Eva May (Plummer) Lamb. While still an infant, the family moved to Goodnight where she was educated in the Goodnight School System. She then attended and graduated from Edmond High School.

Davis then attended and graduated from Central State Teachers' College and after receiving her lifetime teacher's certificate, taught school in various one-room school houses in Logan and Lincoln counties.

On Oct. 27, 1935, she married Oscar R. Davis in Goodnight. After marriage, the couple lived in Stillwater and for a short time in Fort Smith, Ark. They moved back to Stillwater in 1943.

Davis was a homemaker and opened a day care in her residence in 1953 and continued to operate it until her retirement in the mid-1970s.

She was a member of the Senior Citizens Center, Sunshine Seniors, the Rebeccah Lodge, the Priscilla Group, Galilean Class and the Greeters Class at the First Christian Church where she was a member.

Davis enjoyed traveling, crocheting and worked in her garden and yard late into her life.

She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, June 12, 1980; three brothers, Arthur, Archie and Jessa Lamb and four sisters, Iva Mae Lamb, Mamie Lamb, Delpha Adam and Audrie E. Moorman.

Survivors include one daughter, Donna Mae Cooper and her husband William "Butch" of Denton, Texas; one grandchild, D.A. Cooper of Stillwater and one brother, Earl A. Lamb and his wife Mary of Stillwater.

Memorials may be made in her name to LIFE Center, 411 W. Mathews, Stillwater 74074, or Alzheimer's Association of Oklahoma and Arkansas, 6465 S. Yale, Suite 206, Tulsa 74136-7804 or Grace Living Center Resident Programs, 1215 W. 10th, Stillwater 74074.
