Home Stillwater, Oklahoma August 23, 2007 Anita Louise "Bobbi" [Scalise] ComptonJanuary 18, 1944 ~ August 15, 2007 Anita Louise "Bobbi" Compton, 63, of Stillwater, Okla., died Wednesday, August 15, 2007, in Stillwater. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 18, 2007, at Strode Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Stephen Burke officiating. Interment was in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Stillwater. Strode Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Compton was born January 18, 1944 in Brownsville, Pa. to Anthony "Tony" Scalise and Alice E. [McLaughlin] Scalise. She married Windell W. Compton on October 2, 1961 in Brantley County, Ga. He preceded her in death on April 19, 1985. She attended New Covenant Fellowship Church, and worked as a waitress and hostess for many years. Compton was preceded in death by her parents, Anthony Scalise and Alice Wriska and her husband, Windell W. Compton, Sr. Survivors include one son, Windell Compton, Jr. and his wife Trenia of Ellijay, Ga.; two daughters, Belinda Compton Avilez and her husband Jeff of Stillwater, Okla. and Elizabeth Sherrell and her husband Tim of Clewiston, Fla.; 12 grandchildren, Tasha Cornelius and her husband Edwin of Stillwater, Okla., Matt Avilez and his wife Tara of Aviano, Italy, Joshua Sherrell of Orlando, Fla., Rachel Avilez of Stillwater, Okla., Stephanie Sherrell of Clewiston, Fla., Jared Avilez of Stillwater, Okla., Alexandra Compton of Ellijay, Ga., Andrew Sherrell of Clewiston, Fla., Destiny Compton of Ellijay, Ga., Tanya Sherrell of Clewiston, Fla., Duncan Avilez of Stillwater, Okla., and Levi Compton of Ellijay, Ga.; five great grandchildren, Analicia Sanchez of Stillwater, Okla., A'amayah Sanchez of Stillwater, Okla., Kera Avilez of Aviano, Italy, T'Aviana Cornelius of Stillwater, Okla., and Christian Higgins of Stillwater, Okla.; one brother, Anthony Scalise, Jr. of Pennsylvania; and one sister, Patricia Easley of Alabama. Active pallbearers were Windell Compton, Jr., Edwin Cornelius, Jeff Avilez, Jared Avilez, Duncan Avilez, Levi Compton, and Arie Brown.
