Evelyn Maxine [Lacy] Turnham Atkins

Evelyn Maxine Turnham, 89, was called home by her Lord on August 31, 2017 in Perkins, OK.

Maxine was the first of 7 children born to James Henry and Goldie Mae [Bostian] Lacy on May 2, 1928 In Perkins, OK.

She attended schools in the Perkins area where she graduated from High School in 1946.

Her siblings are Geraldine Allen [Wayne], Lorayne Hughes, Yvonne Evans, Martha Bowyer [John] all of Perkins, Judy Lacy of Lahoma, OK, and Norris Lacy of Lakeland, Fl.

Strode Funeral Home will handle the arrangements. Services celebrating her life will be held 2:00 on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Immanuel Baptist Church, Pastor Michael W. Cannon officiating. Interment will be at the Perkins Cemetery.

On January 8, 1946 Maxine married Wm. Wiley "Barney" Turnham, Jr. They were married until his death March 11, 1991. To that union were born four daughters and one son. Jean Russell [Steve], Tulsa; Loretta Taylor [Steve], Woodward; Teresa Lowe [Randy], Perkins; Jamie Hartney, Tulsa; Barney Lee Turnham [Kim] Perkins. She also had 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren from this marriage.

March 3, 2001 Maxine was married to Earl R. Adkins of Perkins until his death March 20, 2015. Besides her two husbands, Maxine was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Barney Lee.

Maxine was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church, Perkins. She has a strong faith in Jesus Christ and in Him she placed her faith and her hope of life eternal and the reunion with loved ones who passed before. She was also a member of the Cimmaron Home Extension Club.

Pall Bearers will be Randy Lowe; Michael Lowe, Sr.; Tyler Turnham; Craig Wegener; Dan Johnson; Aaron Johnson.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Ray Norrie, Lewis Kinzie, John Bowyer, Johnny Marvin Bowyer, Wayne Allen, and Bradley Campbell.
