September 16, 1924 ~ January 6, 2021

Calvin Leonard Ools, 96, of Enid, Oklahoma died at his home on January 6, 2021 in Enid. Funeral services will be held at Strode Funeral and Cremation Chapel in Stillwater, OK on Monday January 11, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Dan Thimell officiating, burial will follow at Perkins Cemetery in Perkins, Oklahoma.

Calvin was born on September 16, 1924 in Newcastle, Oklahoma to Joseph and Ethel Ools. He attended schools in Covington, Hayward and various country schools but left school early to help take care of his family.

Calvin married the love of his life Katherine Buckmaster on April 9, 1949 and they raised four daughters, Diane, Ethel, Linda and Brenda.

Calvin joined the Army Air Corps and attained the rank of Sergeant. Following the military, he began working in the oil field as a pumper working 55 plus years before retiring.

Calvin was a collector of barbwire and was also a long arm quilter, a wood worker, and enjoyed making lap quilts. He loved the outdoors and visiting family and friends Calvin was preceded in death by his parents, wife Katherine Marie Ools, three brothers, two sisters, children Diane Navratil and Linda Cook, as well as grandson Mark Navratil and great-grandson Trevor Navratil.

He is survived by 2 daughters Ethel Rudd and husband Bud and Brenda Cooper as well as 14 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren. Calvin was so greatly loved by his grandkids and had a hand in raising so many of them. He was loved by all and will be greatly missed.
