Richard Lee Kirk
January 20, 1947 ~ January 29, 2018


Richard was born on January 20, 1947 to CL and Shirley Mae [Frailey] in Stillwater, OK. He married Laura Sue [Chambers] Kirk on August 28, 1967 in Ligonier, IN.

Richard attended Ripley High School and Oklahoma State University. He worked as a Machinist; Welder Mechanic. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

Rick went from a young drag racer to his love of muscle cars and his close connection to Ford Racing to becoming "Mr. Ford" expert. He was a part of the Ford Racing Team, a member of the NHRA, and the national network of drag racers. He had a huge network and many considered him to be their best friend. He was the subject of many articles published in several national and international magazines. He could fix anything from any huge corporation to individual farmers. His best quote was "if I can'.t fix it, I'll make it so nobody can fix it."

He is preceded in death by his father.

He is survived by his mother Shirley Kirk, of Perkins, OK; wife, Laura Kirk of Ripley, OK; daughters, Julie Dunfee of Ripley, OK. and Melissa Kirk West of Stillwater, OK; grandchildren, Lincoln West of Stillwater, OK., Sydnee Dimick of West Virginia and Nathan Dimick of Salina, KS; brother, David Kirk of Woodward, OK.

Pallbearers will be Dan Jobin, RB Hauf, Bob Mulvaney, Bob O'Banion, Dewayne Hickman, Kenneth King, Gary O'Neal, Tim Bowman, Brian White, Ralph Alix, Ron Starnes and Gene Hauf.
