Roberta Helen Shields Standridge-Lyman, known to her family and friends as “Bobbie” or “Granny” passed away on February 8, 2009 in the Cushing Regional Hospital at the age of 74 years.

The daughter of the late Robert Hamilton and Olive Vivian Tucker Shields, Roberta was born on February 6, 1935 in Alderson, Oklahoma.

On June 10, 1953 she was united in marriage to Bert F. Andrew Standridge; they were divorced on August 11, 1975. She then married Bill Lyman until July of 2005 when they divorced.

Roberta was a longtime Cushing resident. During her lifetime she had worked various jobs; she was a waitress, grocery clerk, seamstress, factory line worker and had worked at Hissum Center in Sand Springs.

She enjoyed bowling, listening to country music, sewing, and watching court TV and TV game shows.

Survivors include three sons, Robert Standridge and his wife Darla of Conroe, TX, Mike Standridge of Tulsa, OK and Bryan Standridge of Selma, NC; one daughter, Lawanna Standridge Looney and her husband Darrell of Cushing; two brothers, John Shields and A.C. Shields both of McAlester, OK; six grandchildren, April Standridge, Sarah Standridge Loya and her husband Jonathan; Krystal Looney Watts, Steven Looney and his wife Lori, Cory Wayne Standridge and Lillee Standridge; six great-grandchildren, Cora Loya, Caleb Loya, Brannon Watts, Andrew Watts, Charles Looney and Lorene Looney and other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Richard Conway Shields.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2009 at 3 P.M. in the First Church of God with Pastor Kevin Clouse, officiating.
