Nita Marie Smith, 62, passed this life on April 5, 2015 in Stillwater, Oklahoma.

Services will be Thursday, April 9, 2015 at 2:00 PM at the First Church of the Nazarene in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Henry Siems will officiate. Her physical body will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Strode Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Nita was born September 1, 1952 to Owen and Pearlie Bays.

Nita grew up in Stillwater, Oklahoma and graduated from C. E. Donart High School in 1970.

She married Delbert Smith December 1, 1977.

Nita worked in the business office at Stillwater Medical Center for 19 years and then worked for the Guthrie Post Office as a rural mail carrier for 13 years.

She had a passion for helping others, reading books, drawing, painting, and completing crossword puzzles. She also loved gardening and watching her beautiful flowers grow. She was devoted to family and treasured her time with her grandchildren most of all

Nita is preceded in death by her parents, Owen Bays and Pearlie Bays-Cook; step-father, Ivo Cook; brother, Raymond Bays; and sister, Pat Bays-Brodie.

She is survived by her husband, Delbert Smith; son, David Smith and wife, Shaunna, of Stillwater; son, David Moore and wife, Lisa, of Oklahoma City; daughter, Lisa White and husband, David, of Claremore; and daughter, Mandy Alsop and husband, Ryan, of Stillwater. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Daysha Smith, Daylon Smith, Beckham Smith, Solomon Smith, Eric Moore, Matthew Moore, Natalie White, Jacob White, Benjamin White, Zachary White, Ryleigh Alsop, Noah Alsop, and Isaiah Alsop. She is also survived by brothers, Keith and wife, Janice, Bays, Lester Bays and Nathan Beller; sisters, LaVerne and husband, Russ, Caid and Evelyn and husband, Max, Pepmiller; sister-in-law Linda Bays; and dozens of nephews, nieces, cousins, in-laws, and extended family.

Pallbearers will include Larry Jenkins, Paul Jenkins, Parker Jenkins, Dannie Ventris, Dillan Wilson, and Lance Bienhoff.
