William Thomas "Bill" Romig, Cushing resident, passed away on Thursday, March 13, 2008 at his residence at the age of 65 years.

The son of the late John Herbert Romig and Dorothea Schroeder Romig, Bill was born on January 28, 1943 in Independence, KS and was reared and educated in Independence.

He entered the United States Air Force in 1962, serving four years before his honorable discharge in 1966. While serving, he worked on jet engines.

Bill was united in marriage to Sarah Elaine Landrum on February 1, 1964 in Blytheville, Arkansas. To this union one daughter, Sarah Elese, was born. Elaine preceded him in death on July 18, 2006.

He was a member of the Ninth & Linwood Church of Christ in Cushing; and was a former member and Elder of the Independence Church of Christ.

Bill loved to collect and work on old cars; he enjoyed fishing, camping, boating, grilling and just being outdoors.

He will be remembered for his friendliness and good sense of humor.

Survivors include his daughter, Sarah Elese Guyot and her husband John of Cushing; one granddaughter, Brooke Guyot of Stillwater; one sister Carole Tallman and her husband David of Cushing; one brother, John Romig and his wife Joyce of Leander, TX; one brother-in-law Charles Landrum of Independence, KS; seven nieces and nephews, Randy Tallman and his wife Angla, Lori Butler and her husband Stuart, Gale Jones and her husband Rick, Kathy Jennings and her husband Kevin, Doug Romig and his wife Jill, Jennifer King and her husband Brett and Warren Romig; 12 great nieces and nephews and numerous other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his wife Sarah Elaine Romig.

Services will be held on Monday, March 17, 2008 at 10 A.M. in the Davis Memorial Chapel in Cushing with Tom Barton and Wendyll Heffington officiating.

Graveside services will be at 3 P.M. in the Havana Cemetery in Havana, KS.
