Juanita M. Alexander, retired beautician and nurse’s aid, passed away on Monday, December 12, 2005 in the Linwood Village Nursing Home at the age of 89 years.

She was born on May 19, 1916 in Yale and was reared and educated in this area.

She was married to Robert Leonard Nicholson and to this union three children, Leonard, LaVeta and Sandy were born. Robert passed away at the age of 34 years in 1949 and in 1957 she was married to Jack Alexander.

Following the death of her first husband, Juanita went to Beauty School and became a Beautician, working as a Beautician for 20 years prior to becoming a nurse’s aid at the Cushing Hospital until she retired at the age of 62. She later worked for T G & Y for eight years and babysitter for twin girls for a couple of years.

She was a member of the First freewill Baptist Church and for several years had volunteered at the Cushing Senior Citizen Center.

Surviving include her husband of over 48 years, Jack Alexander of the home; three children, LaVeta Green and her husband Richard of Cushing; Sandy Evans and her husband Jerry of Stillwater and Leonard Nicholson of M.I.A.U.L.; grandchildren, Chuck Nicholson and his wife Jan, Donna Nicholson, Bobby Nicholson, Ross Nicholson, Elizabeth Nicholson, Cindy Groene and her husband Steve, Curtis Green and his wife Amy, Lisa Fry and her husband David, Carolyn Johns and her husband David and Lea Politte and her husband Jeff; great-grandchildren, Madison and Jackson Green, Nicholas Groene, Jessalyn and Jared Politte, Fowler Johns, Trevor, Tara and Whitley Fry and Brandi and Emily Nicholson; several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents and first husband, she was preceded in death by one sister; one brother and two great-grandchildren Danielle Johns and Brian Kimbrel.

A private family service will be held on Tuesday, December 27, at 1115 East Broadway at 2 P.M.

The family has requested no flowers or food and that you might give to your favorite charity, church or a needy family in her memory.
