Glenda Joyce McConnell was born on January 22, 1938 in Garden City, Kansas to Glendon James Frizzell and Stella Mae Frizzell.

Glenda left this world to be with Jesus on January 19, 2006.

She was a graduate of Arkansas City High School in 1956.

She was united in marriage to Gene Wendel McConnell, Sr. on March 9, 1956 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. From this marriage was born Pamela Sue Huber, Gene Wendel McConnell, Jr., Janie Lynn Quimby and Michael Shay McConnell. Spouses of her children include Chris Huber, Paul Quimby and Carla McConnell.

Glenda was the proud grandmother to Christopher Chase Huber, Wendy Lynn Huber, Ryan Wendel McConnell, Katherine Jane Quimby, Jennifer Joyce Quimby, Lori Anne Quimby, Lucas Frederick McConnell, Stuart Mark McConnell, Hugh Patrick McConnell and Joseph Michael McConnell.

Glenda’s sister, Beulah Jane Clayton, lives in Garden City, Kansas. Glenda has two nephews, Marvin Frizzell of Garden City, Kansas and Terry Frizzell of Corpus Christi, Texas, and many other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Melvin Frizzell and wife Maybelle, her grandson Tyler Shea McConnell, nieces Kathy Richman and Marsha Franks.

Glenda was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who had many friends. She was active in her church and will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

There will be a Memorial Service at the First United Methodist Church of Cushing, Oklahoma on Thursday, January 26, 2006 at 1:00 P.M. with Reverend Ted Uhlig officiating.
