Marie Elizabeth Hungate, longtime Cushing resident, now of Socorro, NM, passed away Thursday, March 18, 2010 in Socorro at the age of 89 years.

The daughter of the late William Harry LaCost and Ruth Danely LaCost, Marie was born on November 18, 1920 in Dacoma, OK.

She was united in marriage to Harley Hunter Hungate and to this union five children, Donna, Donald, Norma, Morris and Rebecca, were born.

Marie was a longtime member of the Salvation Army Church and for many years had been the manager of the Salvation Army thrift store. She enjoyed all church work; playing the piano and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her children, Rebecca Lukens of Socorro, NM, Donald Hungate of Cushing, and Norma Johnson of Elkins, AR; one sister Jeanne Johnson of Elkins, AR; one brother William LaCost of Avondale, LA; six grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Harley, and two children, Donna Hungate and Morris Hungate.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. in the Memorial Chapel of the Davis Funeral Home.

Burial will follow in the Fairlawn Cemetery.
