Patrick Varselle Hodge, Cushing resident, passed away Sunday evening, July 23, 2006 at his residence at the age of 69 years.

The son of the late Chester Stephen Hodge and Pearl Elizabeth Jackson Hodge, Patrick was born on August 22, 1936 in Davenport Oklahoma, and was reared and educated in the Davenport schools.

He was united in marriage to Glenda Clark on December 2, 1955. To this union three children, Cheryl, Reba and Patrick II, were born.

Patrick had worked at many different occupations in his lifetime, including the oilfield; restaurant management; truck driver; was an ambulance driver for the Stroud Hospital; maintenance engineer, electrician and security guard.

He was an ordained Baptist Minister and had pastured at Shamrock Oklahoma for several years and had held revivals over the state. He really enjoyed going to Falls Creek and working with the youth.

His hobbies and pastimes included fishing, camping, bowling, gardening, woodworking, collecting cars and auctions. His favorite past time was to attend sporting and school events of his children and grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of over fifty years, Glenda, of the home; his children, Cheryl Fanning and her husband Nathan of Cushing; Reba Pinegar and her husband Daryle of Ark City, KS; Patrick V. Hodge II and his wife Bonna of O’Fallon, IL; Cathie Laden and her husband Bobby of Yukon and Tiffany Kalka and her husband Jimmy of Davenport; his grandchildren, Heather Barnard, Roger Barnard, Holly Hulsey, Rachel Hodge, Jake Pinegar, Lauren, Megan and Patrick V Hodge III, Stephanie, Gregory and Albigail Laden and Sierra and Makayla Kalka; great-grandchildren, Blake Barnard and Cole Barnard; three brothers, Chester Dale Hodge and his wife Sue of Olive, James Ray Hodge and his wife Christine of Stroud and Danny Joe Hodge and his wife Jan of Chandler; several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Services will be held Wednesday, July 26, 2006 at 10 A.M. in the First Baptist Church in Stroud with Reverend Jess McDowell, officiating.

Burial will follow in the Davenport Cemetery, Davenport, OK.

Serving as casket bearers will be Chester Dale Hodge, James Ray Hodge, Danny Joe Hodge, James Montgomery, Todd Spaid and Aaron McGee. Serving as honorary casket bearers will be Sam Spaid and Carmen Clark.
