Alice Lee Crenshaw, longtime Cushing resident, passed away Tuesday, June 13, 2006 in the Cushing Regional Hospital at the age of 94 years.

The daughter of the late Les and Orva King, Alice was born on February 18, 1912 in Gotebo, OK.

She moved to Cushing at an early age and attended Cushing High School and then Tulsa Business School.

She married Don Crenshaw on February 9, 1936 and they were married 63 years prior to his death in July of 1997. She and Don loved Cushing and returned to retire here in 1982.

Alice was employed at the Cushing Refinery when she married Don in 1936. She was also secretary for the Girl Scouts and very active in activities for many years at the First Christian Church where she had been a member for more than 75 years.

During the past year, two special people came into Alice’s life. They were her caregivers, Jennie Lair and Shirley Sadler who were wonderful to her and cared so much about her. She was Susanne’s best friend and enjoyed bowling, her trips with the Travel Club from Lucent Technologies, camping at the lake, playing bridge and just enjoying life.

She is survived by one daughter, Susanne of Oklahoma City; one sister-in-law, Rosalie King of Blue Ridge, TX; one brother-in-law, Dr. Jim Riley of Wellington, KS; nieces and nephews, Phyllis Flake of Oklahoma City, Kay Moore of Austin, TX, Mike and Karen King of Corpus Christi, TX, Patti and Ronnie Eckel of Porum, OK, Ronnie Eckel of Allen, TX, Dr. Louis and Brenda King of Coweta, OK, Rod and Linda Buell of Sprint, TX, Penny Buell of Bradenton, FL, Carolyn and Gerald Morehouse of Deer Park, TX, David and Brenda King of Pasadena, TX, Jim Riley, Jr. and Laura of Powell, WY, many sons and daughters of the above and other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, Alice was preceded in death by three brothers, Roy, Orman and Richard King; one sister, Thelma Robertson and two sister-in-laws, Jeanne King and Esther King.

Services will be held Friday, June 16, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. in the First Christian Church with Dr. Larry Haney officiating. Mary Louise Smith, organist, will provide the organ prelude and postlude and will accompany Diana Sue Young, soloist.

Special pallbearers will be co-workers of Susanne’s, her former supervisors at the Lucent Manufacturing Plant in Oklahoma City, Hubert Caldwell, Vincent Ward, Kent Lindholm, Fred Summers, Brian Broesel, Earl Glines, Don Besett, Don London, Charlie Seymour and Jim Mille.

Burial will follow in the Euchee Valley Memorial Park Cemetery.
