Berniece Cook, lifelong Cushing resident and retired sales clerk, passed away on Tuesday, March 18, 2008 in the Drumright Hospital at the age of 85 years.

The daughter of the late George H. Seaba and Ruth Smith Seaba, Berniece was born on January 31, 1923 in Cushing, OK and was reared and educated here, living in this area all of her life.

She was united in marriage to Taylor Cook on February 28, 1943 in Cushing and he preceded her in death on October 6, 1988.

Berniece had worked for Montgomery Wards for many years prior to her retirement.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, Karen Wilson and her husband Mike of Watts, OK and David Cook and his wife Linda of Carrollton, TX; five grandchildren, Alicia Wayland, Jami Minney, Jay Evans, Justin Beau Cook and Christina Parks; her great-grandchildren, Jeremy Minney, Jacob Minney, Corbin Minney, Sydney Wayland, Payton Wayland, Kylie Rogers and Justin Tyler Cook, and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 21, 2008 at 10 A.M. in the Memorial Chapel of the Davis Funeral Home with Bob Vaught officiating.

Burial will follow in the Euchee Valley Memorial Park Cemetery.
