James Newton Bradley II, 81, passed away on January 30, 2015 in Stillwater, Oklahoma. The family will greet visitors from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 4. A funeral mass will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, February 5th at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Strode Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

James was born on February 22, 1934 to James Newton and Ann Elisbeth (Osterhaus) Bradley in Ft. Worth, Texas.

James went to school at St. Gregory in Shawnee and graduated from Stillwater High School in 1952. While at Stillwater High he met the love of his life Ruth Helen Whitson and after they graduated the married on October 10, 1954 and started a family.

He went on to college at O.S.U and graduated with a degree in Vocational Education in 1969. He was a member of the St. Francis Xavier Church in Stillwater.

James worked for Southwestern Bell as a Repeater man for thirty year and after he retired he went and worked for Mercury Marine in Stillwater. After his retirement he spent his time with his family and enjoyed his hobbies.

He was a founding member of the Timer Car Club in Stillwater and had a real passion for cars, drag racing and street rods. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with his family.

James is preceded in death by his parents James Newton Bradley and Ann Bradley.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth of Stillwater, two sons Jay Bradley and his wife Darla of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin; Brian Bradley and his wife Lisa of Stillwater; three grandchildren Blair Bradley of Oklahoma City; Blake Bradley and his wife Wendy and son Wyatt of Oklahoma City; Tyler Bradley and his son Tanner of Stillwater. He is also survived by brothers, Bill and Miriam Bradley and Bob and Kay Bradley and numerous nieces and nephews of Stillwater.
