Charlaine Marie Davis Anderson was born in Cushing, Oklahoma on September 20, 1923 to an early day horse-and-buggy doctor Benjamin Davis and Charlotte Augusta Davies Davis. She died on Thursday, June 21, 2007.

Charlaine was raised and educated in Cushing, graduating from Cushing High School in 1940 and Hockaday Jr. College in 1942. She then attended the University of Oklahoma with summer school studies in Mexico.

Charlaine married Oscar Samuel Anderson, Jr., on March 4, 1945. Their children include C’Anne Anderson and husband Michael Condax of Philadelphia, PA; Sue Anderson of Denver, CO; Nick and Linda Anderson of Cushing, the late Ben Anderson; Bruce Anderson of Tulsa, Brett and Becky Anderson of Cushing, and Leslie Anderson of Springfield, MO. She is also survived by one sister Deloris Davis Isted and her husband Desmond of Tulsa, sister-in-law Minnie Anderson Sheffer of Beggs, nieces, nephews, cousins, as well as two godchildren, Craig Schwarz of Alaska and Juliet Jones Moss of Indiana.

Charlaine adored her family and many friends, and welcomed them all into her life, considering so many of her friends as part of her extended family. She enjoyed the privilege of traveling and had friends in many far away places.

Throughout her life, Charlaine enjoyed being involved in Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, school activities of her children, and volunteering for the hospital auxiliary and her church.

The family will have a private committal.

There will be a memorial service on Monday, June 25, 2007 at 10 A.M. at the First Presbyterian Church in Cushing. All who wish are invited to join the family for “Coffee, Cake and Stories” in the lounge of the church following the service.
