Charlene was born on November 19, 1949, in Cushing, Oklahoma to Charles and Elnora Clarke, and
passed away on March 15, 2005, at the age of 55.
She lived in Bakersfield with her mother and her two brothers, Phillip and Richard, since she was
a little girl. She attended twelve years of school, graduating from Bakersfield High School, and
eventually taking a job with the Bakersfield Californian as an advertisement artist. She remained
an employee there for almost 20 years.
Charlene is preceded in death by her mother, Elnora Clarke, her father, Charley Clarke, brother,
Phillip Hagar and father-in-law, Joe Bryan. She is survived by her husband, Dave, her son, Justin
Holman with wife and son, Mandy and Nathan, her brother, Richard Hagar with wife, Jan, her
stepdaughters, Stephanie and Kristen with son, Brandon and daughter, Maggie, her stepsons, Anthony
and Matthew with fiancé and daughter, Christine and Rilee.
Charlene was known and loved by many as Widget and Little Bit for all the toughness she fit inside
her 411 frame, and a whole host of other names that portrayed her fun loving orneriness and
hardheadedness. She was the proudest mother of a Marine that there ever was, referring to herself
as M&M, Marine Mom. She is loved and missed by all that knew her.
