Mark Stephen Hall, 55, passed away at his home on March 4, 2015. Graveside services and interment, under the direction of Strode Funeral Home, with the assistance of the Payne County Sheriff’s Department will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. at Marena Cemetery located on West 44th Street, 1.5 miles east of Coyle Road. Officiating will be Father Stuart Crevcoure of St. John University Parish.

Mark was born on October 21, 1959 in Stillwater, Oklahoma to Heinz and Marliese S. Hall. Mark was a 1978 graduate of Stillwater (C. E. Donart) High School and a1984 graduate of Oklahoma State University, with a degree in Sociology. At the time of his passing, Mark was a Deputy with the Payne County Sheriff’s Department where he served for 27 years. Mark is survived by his parents, his brother Michael Hall and wife Annette of Shreveport, Louisiana, his niece Stephanie Hall of Dallas, Texas, and his beloved cat Eva. He is also survived by relatives in Oklahoma, Germany, and England.

Mark was very fond of cars and motorcycles, particularly motorcycles. Throughout most of his life, Mark was never without a motorcycle. For him it was more than a hobby, it really was a passion. He loved the sport and the people associated with it. Recently, he became involved in the restoration of vintage moto-cross bikes. Not only did he restore them, but he rode them with a vengeance! He firmly believed that they were meant to be ridden and not parked. When not riding, he was involved in establishing and maintaining a place for off-road motorcycling (Stillwater 500), and in organizing off-road motorcycle races. He was the current President of the Stillwater Trail Riders Association, an organization he was actively involved with for many years.

Mark really enjoyed life and will be deeply missed by his family and all of his friends. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Sheriff R. B. Haufand the entire Payne County Sheriff’s Department for all of their help and support through this difficult time. We can’t thank them enough for all that they have done. ToChris Parker for his support, kind words, and stories about Mark, we thank you.To the d’Offay’s and the Wicksted’s thank you so much. To all of Mark’s motorcycle and car friends, his friends at Aspen Coffee Shop, and to all of those people whose lives he touched, the family thanks you for your support and kindness. Finally, to the members of our own family, thank you for being with us, your kindness and concerns are deeply appreciated. If we forgot to recognize anyone, please forgive us.
