Frances Ann Burden, 79, of Perkins, Oklahoma passed away on December 6, 2014 in Stillwater. The family will greet visitors from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 9 at Strode Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 10 at Lawson Cemtery, Yale with Brother Michael Cannon officiating. Strode Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Frances was born on December 7, 1934 in Yale, Oklahoma to Charles Andrew and Gladys Delorus (Ramsey) Cobble. She attended Shamrock school.
On January 5, 1956, Frances married Robert Lee Burden. They were together until his death.
Frances worked as a cook, substitute teacher, and basketball scorekeeper for the Perkins-Tryon School System. She was a true supporter of all facets of the Perkins-Tryon Schools including band, athletics, FFA, and Special Olympics.
Frances was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Gladys; and husband, Robert.
She is survived by daughters, Rhonda Burden Jolliff (Roger) of Perkins; Jan Burden Hughes (Dale) of Centralia, MO; Roben Burden Welty (Wayne) of Broomfield, CO; grandchildren, Ann Marie and Alexanderia Elizabeth Hughes of Centralia, MO; and Michael Hunter and Andrew Joseph Welty of Broomfield, CO; sister, Donna (Cobble) Rudkin of Chandler. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and adopted children.
Pallbearers will be Thomas Stroud, Jeff Caruthers, Lynn Kinder, Philip Deisher, Brian Madison, Earl Madison, Andrew Welty.
