Lillian Bernice Beard, 84, passed away on Monday, Oct. 8, 2007 in the Linwood Village Nursing Home.

The daughter of the late Warren McQueen and Bernice Hartley McQueen, Lillian was born on August 8, 1923 in Cushing, and was reared and educated here, graduating from Cushing High School in 1941.

She was married to Bill Hicks and to this union two children, Romelle and Michael were born. She later married Benny Beard and he has preceded her in death.

Lillian had worked for the Cushing Regional Hospital dietary department for over 20 years prior to her retirement.

She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church; was active with the Senior Citizen Center and she enjoyed fishing.

Survivors include one daughter, Romelle Seever and her husband Kenneth of Cushing; two grandchildren, Victoria Ramer and her husband Nathan of Shawnee, OK and Kendra Seever of Waukomis, OK; one great-grandson Joseph and other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son Michael Hicks.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2007 at 2 P.M. in the Fairlawn Cemetery with Reverend Robert Adams and Reverend Tom Stewart officiating.
