JERRY DUNCAN "J.D." SARVER

March 15, 1964 - August 21, 2018

Jerry Duncan (J.D.) Sarver passed away Tuesday, August 21, 2018, in Stillwater at the age of 54.

The celebration of his life is 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 23, 2018, at the First United Methodist Church in Stillwater. Interment follows at Fairlawn Cemetery in Stillwater.

Strode Funeral Home, Stillwater, is in charge of the arrangements.

J.D. was born March 15, 1964, in Hobart. He attended Hobart Public Schools, graduating in 1982, and had lifelong friends made during those years playing baseball, football, and wrestling.

He spent his teenage years working for his father's roofing company. He learned the value of hard work, finishing tasks, and leadership from his dad and also from many coaches and teachers.

His path eventually led him to Stillwater, where he graduated from Oklahoma State University with an accounting degree. J.D. worked for the Farm Credit system for almost 20 years, most of those in Enid.

He made the transition to commercial banking in 2008, and had been with RCB Bank in Stillwater since March 2017.

On August 8, 1987, he married Karen Faith Cooper and they journeyed together with love and laughter for 31 years. They have two sons, Jerry Paul (J.P.) and Ezekiel James (Zeke), both of whom have brought much joy and adventure to their world. Their lives were rich with friends and family.

J.D. was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Edward Sarver; infant sister, Janine Michelle; paternal grandparents, Minnie Laura (Shine) and James Edward Sarver; maternal grandmother, Geraldine Maxey.

He is survived by his wife, Faith Sarver; sons, J.P. Sarver of Houston and Zeke Sarver of Stillwater; mother, Judy Sarver of Hobart; brother, Jarred Sarver and wife Polly of Tuttle; sister, Joy Hammond and husband Bob of Greenville, TX; in-laws Vickie and Colin Hooley of Sentinel and Jerry Cooper of Sentinel; sister-in-law, Danielle Cooper of Sentinel; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family.
