Boyd Meeker services held here Tuesday
Boyd Lorren Meeker, 74, died Saturday while visiting in Cushing and funeral services were held here Tuesday morning, June 3. Born Oct. 10, 1900, in Pawnee, Oklahoma Territory, he married Thelma Griesel on March 13, 1926 in Pawnee and has lived in this area most of his life. He farmed and worked for the county south of Pawnee until retiring and moving to town a few years ago.
He was preceded in death by 7 brothers, 2 sisters and a daughter, Thelma Ann. Survivors include his wife, Thelma, of the home, plus 3 sons and 2 daughters: Roy Meeker of Lawton; Major Joe Meeker of Ft. Lewis, Wash; Dan Meeker of Oklahoma City; Mrs. Wayne Wilson of Guthrie and Mrs. Bill Pope of Whitaker, Calif. plus 12 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
The Rev Albert Jones and Dick Williams officiated at the service at the First Christian church at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 3, and interment was in Highland cemetery under the direction of the Poteet Funeral Home.
