Marietta "Mickie" Widner Bowman

Marrietta “Mickie” Bowman (Widener) passed away on June 27, 2022, from complications related to dementia.

Marrietta was born on April 30, 1934, in Wynona, Oklahoma and graduated from Cleveland (Oklahoma) High School. She attended Central State College in Oklahoma where she graduated with a B.S. in elementary education. While there she met the love of her life, James Bowman. They were married in June 1958 and had five sons together.

Marrietta was preceded in death by her parents James Bertis and Mary Elizabeth Widener of Cleveland, Oklahoma; siblings Geneva Maxine Whiles of Fairfax, OK and Georgia Opal Dunn of Sand Springs, OK; and her son William Jay “Bill” Bowman of Canby, Oregon.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, James Bowman of Hubbard, OR; sons Larry, Jeff, Bruce, and Carl; ten grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and her sister Willie Mae Brown of Jenks, OK.

A graveside service for Marrietta will be held Saturday, July 16, at 11am at the Dixie/Bear Creek Cemetery in Cleveland, Oklahoma.
