Claudia Ann McLaughlin McCauley

mccauley-c-a

September 2, 1954 - January 8, 2023

Claudia Ann McCauley of Bartlesville is now whole, healed and rejoicing in her Heavenly home. She was 68 when she left this earth Sunday after a long battle in healing but a longer life of purpose and joy. Her loving family and friends recall her independent spirit, strength and kindness. They have no doubt she's listening to music and dancing all over with her son Wil.

Claudia was born the daughter of Claude Vernon and Anna Ruth (Eikenbary) McLaughlin on September 2, 1954, in Cushing, OK. She was raised in Barnsdall with her five siblings. Claudia was active in sports and enjoyed playing basketball and softball. Graduating from Barnsdall High School in 1972, Claudia furthered her education at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, a part of Oklahoma that captured her heart. She loved the Illinois River and the beautiful outdoors in and around the area. She graduated with her degree in accounting and returned to Barnsdall where she raised her children Willliam and Brianna.

Claudia worked 35 plus years with Cities Service which later became CITGO Petroleum in Tulsa. During her last five years there, she was posted to Houston. Claudia was happy to retire in 2009 and return to Barnsdall to help care for her mother. There, she started a second career with Performance in Barnsdall. She was excited to become a grandmother. Her two oldest grandkids enjoyed weekends with CC at the lake where she had a beautiful condo on the water with swimming pools, and they made trips to Chuck E. Cheese. At Meghan Coves in Grove, her neighbors became sweet friends. But most of all, Claudia loved her family and spending time with them. In 2021, she returned from Grove to be closer to Bri and her family in Bartlesville.

All through her life, Claudia loved the water and especially the solitude and beauty of the outdoors. She enjoyed golfing under God's great blue sky. She was an avid reader and loved crossword puzzles. With Wil she enjoyed attending concerts and live events. Bri remembers her mom's love for cards, playing card games with her friends, and most recently, teaching the grandkids solitare on the phone. Claudia had a blast watching her grandkids play sports, ride the rides at the Kiddie Park and grow up sweet and strong. She was fiercely independent and wasn't afraid to try new things even if it meant going it alone.

Claudia is survived by her daughter, Brianna (Adam) Hibdon; grandchildren, Anna Bella, Henry, Abigail and Berkley; siblings, Robert and Julie McLaughlin, Sandy and Bob Hayes, and Terry and Jerry Lesch and family; sister-in-law, Tami Layton; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her son Wil McCauley and brothers Rusty and Larry McLaughlin.

Claudia's family will receive friends on Wednesday, from 4-6 p.m., at the Davis Family Funeral Home & Crematory & Walker Brown Chapel, 918-333-7665, 4201 Nowata Rd, Bartlesville. Visitation will also be held on Wednesday from 10-8, and Thursday, 9-12. Graveside services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m., at the New Ethel Reece Cemetery, with Rev. Barry Gott officiating. Services are under the direction of Carter Davis and the Davis Family Funeral Home & Crematory & Walker Brown Chapel. Online condolences and remembrances may be shared at www.DavisFamilyFuneralHome.com.
