Emma Joy Campbell, 77, of Barnsdall, died at 1:50 A.M. on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at her home.

Emma Joy (Isch) Campbell was born near La Harpe at the family home on November 28th, 1937. Thursday the 28th, was in truth a day of Thanksgiving in many ways.

After her father's death in 1945, she, her mother and three sisters moved to Dewey Oklahoma. The family then moved to Bartlesville, where she completed her education, graduating from College High School in 1955.

Emma Joy enjoyed working as a Bell telephone operator until her marriage to James Sterling Campbell on August 31, 1956. They met on a blind date, which was set-up by Don Brisbin. Jim and Joy were married three months later.

From this happy union, three children were born –Linda, Larry and Gary. Emma Joy stayed busy caring for her husband, home and children. She cooked many tasty meals, with home-made chicken and noodles being her specialty. She loved to sew and was very "crafty". Friends and family were often blessed by her knitted, crocheted and cross-stitched projects.

Emma Joy went back to work for ten years as an international billing clerk at TRW Reda. When she left Reda, she and her beloved husband Jim pursued a dream –a business of their own –operating Jim's Resale in Barnsdall. She was a life-long Christian and set an outstanding example for everyone she met. Emma Joy was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Barnsdall, and later the Church of the Nazarene, which is also in Barnsdall. She fought the good fight and kept the faith throughout her life-time, and especially during her battle with cancer.

She was preceded in death by her father, John Isch; mother, Vinita (Bromagem) Isch; sisters, Betty Lea, Mary Talley, Shirley Isch; and great-granddaughter Madilyn Wallace.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, James Campbell, of the home; one sister, Sharon (Isch) Bowlin and her husband Howard Bowlin, of Skiatook. Children, Linda (Campbell) Wallace and her husband, Robert Wallace of Skiatook; Larry Allen Campbell and his wife Dawn Campbell of Wichita; and Gary Sterling Campbell and his wife Ann Campbell of Edmond, Oklahoma. Her nine Grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren were the joy of her life.

Services will be held at the Church of the Nazarene in Barnsdall, Oklahoma on Tuesday, January 13 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in the Ethel Reece Cemetery at Barnsdall.

The Campbell family will receive guests at the Stumpff Funeral Home on Monday evening from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M. The family suggests that donations be made to Cornerstone Hospice.

Pallbearers will include Don Brisbin, Charles Allen Campbell, Sean Wallace, Joshua Osburn, Gary Elliott and Jerry Ryan. Honorary pallbearers will include Stone Campbell, John Shambles and Joshua Shambles.

The family suggests that memorial donations be made to Cornerstone Hospice, 3414 S.E. Kentucky Ave, Bartlesville, Oklahoma 74006.

Friends who wish may sign the online guest book and leave condolences at www.stumpff.org.
