Fred Douglas "Doug" Potter

Fred Douglas "Doug" Potter passed away July 5 in Woodward, Oklahoma. He was 50 years old. Doug was born December 29, 1961 in Emporia, Kansas, the son of Fred Dean and Marjorie Louise (Thornton) Potter. On January 7, 1980, he married Millicent Roxanne Fetrow. They were married for twenty-one years.
A cowboy, Doug was a member of the Working Ranch Cowboys Association and the Ranch Horse Association of America. He also shared his time working as a truck driver.
Surviving are a son, Christopher Potter his wife Amy, and their children Colton and Carlee; two daughters, Christa Simpson, her husband Steve, and their children Kaylee, Micayla and Brylee; Chelsea Potter-Clements, her husband Ryan, and their children, Emma, Ellie and Coy; his siblings, Gary Potter, Sheryle Baker, Nancy Potter-Weikle, Donny and Linda Potter, Rhonda and Craig Reyer, David and Lynn Potter, Debbie and Ace Schoer, twin sister Denise and Bobby Bradshaw; along with a host of other family and friends. Doug was preceded in death by his parents, nephew David Potter, brother-in-law Sam Weikle, and sister-in-law Linda Potter.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Doug Potter Memorial Fund, c/o Citizens Bank, PO Box 27, Pawhuska, OK 74056.
Visitation will be held July 10, 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at McCartney's Johnson Funeral Home, Pawhuska, OK. Funeral services will be held July 11, 10:00 a.m. at the Foraker First United Methodist Church, Foraker, OK. Troy Barbee will officiate. Interment will follow at the Foraker Cemetery.
