Martha Lee Bolz, longtime Shidler area resident, passed Friday, May 10, 2013 in Bartlesville. She was 71 years of age.

Martha was born May 1, 1942 in Bassett, Texas, the daughter of Wesley Conway Roach and Mittie ArDella Tinsley Roach. She attended James Bowie High School in Simms, Texas. She was married to Chester Lee Bolz on May 30, 1965 in Covington, Oklahoma with the couple making their first home in Shidler.

Martha was known for her infectious laugh and giggle. She also was famous for her made from scratch German chocolate cake. Her enjoyments were crafts, canning and gardening. Martha was a longtime member of the Shidler United Methodist Church where she took care of the church nursery for many years.

She is survived by one son, Charley Bolz of Shidler one daughter, Glenda Bolz of Ponca City two sisters, Zoe Bolz of Covington, Oklahoma and Linda Baker of Ringo, Louisiana four brothers, Elbert Roach of Bassett, Texas, Delbert Roach of Caddo Mills, Texas, Max Roach of Bassett and Arlie Roach of DeKalb, Texas numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents her husband Chester Bolz on October 24, 1994 an infant sister, Rosa Bell an infant brother, Glaston.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at the Foraker Cemetery. Bro. Matt Smith, pastor of the Webb City Church of God will preside. Arrangements are under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel.
