Charles "Eugene" Yandell began his journey to heaven on Saturday, July 23, 2022, at the age of 87. He had resided at the Fairfax Manor for the past two years where he passed away.

"Eugene" as he was affectionately called, per his request, was the third child born to Charles Edward Yandell and Ovie Julia White on May 13, 1935, at the family home west of Fairfax, Oklahoma. While growing up, he attended Fairfax Public Schools.

He and Madeline Joyce McKinney were united in marriage on April 19, 1962, making their home in Fairfax. To this union four children were born: Kevin, Keith, Kara, and Kyle.

"Eugene" began his career with the Fairfax Police Department in 1961. After serving as a Police Officer for 17 years, he left the force to join the City of Ponca City as a Sanitation Driver/Supervisor. After 23 years serving the community of Ponca City, he retired and began his lawn care business with his wife, Madeline.

In his spare time, he could be found fishing, playing cards, or serenading the neighborhood with his guitar. Most importantly, he loved spending time with his family.

"Eugene" was proceeded in death by all four of his children, Kevin, Keith, Kara and Kyle; his parents Charles Edward and Ovie Yandell; three brothers Wallace, Everette, and Robbie Yandell; one sister, Lucille Smith; and one niece, Chris McCeary.

"Eugene" is survived by wife Madeline of the Fairfax Manor; daughter-in-law, Kaylynn Yandell of Fairfax; four granddaughters, Destinee & Ryan Hunt of Norman, Desiree Yandell of Edmond, Koree Potter & Tim Edwards of Ponca City and Kylee Potter of Shidler; three great-grandchildren, Lydia Edwards of Ponca City, Dallis Hunt of Norman, and Karson Grimes of Ponca City; one niece, Julia Smith of Fairfax and a host of other relatives and close friends.

Viewing and visitation will be at Hunsaker Wooten Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 26th, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Graveside Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 27, 2022, at the Fairfax City Cemetery with Pastor Russ Hughes. Burial will immediately follow under the care of Hunsaker Wooten Funeral Home of Fairfax.

The family will be welcoming guests at the home of Kaylynn Yandell.
