Gladys T. “Moore” Wilkie a longtime Henryetta resident passed away on February 9, 2005 in Henryetta, Ok at the age of 90. Born April 8, 1914 in Olvey, Arkansas to Edward Henry and Edna Lee (Trease) Ross. She married Woodrow Wilkie in April of 1972 in Morris,OK. Gladys was a News Correspondent for the Okmulgee Daily Times reporting in Henryetta for 21 years before retiring. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and taught Sunday school for many years. She was also a member of the Business and Professional Women’s of Okmulgee County. Gladys loved the outdoors, fishing, golf and her passion was trap shooting. Her parents precede her in death, first husband Robert Otto Moore on 6-8-69, Brother Clifford Arthur Ross and a stepfather James Baxter Hughes.
Memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society.
Survived by: Husband: Woody Wilkie of the home,Niece: Susan & Husband Phil Casey of Joplin , MO,Sallye & husband Dick, Shelton Bakersfield, CA,Nephews: Jim and wife Janet McKinster of San Berdino,CA,Art and wife Della McKinster of San Berdino,CA.,Sister-in-law: Imo Gene Ross of Grandberry,TX, Many other relatives and friends.
Services will be 11:00am, Saturday, February 12, 2005 at the Rogers Funeral Home Chapel with Phil Casey officiating. Interment will follow at the Morris Cemetery in Morris, Oklahoma under the direction of the Rogers Funeral Home.
