Virginia H. McGill a resident of Tulsa,Ok passed away on September 2, 2006 in Henryetta, Ok at the age of 78. She lived a very active life and loved to talk politics. She loved to exercise, shop till you drop, go the movies, surf the net, hang out with friends and most of all she loved to cook.

Born to Henry E. Matthewson and Nina (Nell) Stout in Mobley, TN on July 11, 1928.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Paul Matthewson, sister; Pauline Socheck and her daughter Michele Powers.

She was employed with the Tulsa County Health Department until she joined the Peace Corp in 1973. She was stationed in Africa and the Haiti. She finished her career in Tulsa with Home Health and private Nursing.

In lieu of flowers make donations to the American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75231.

Survived by a daughter: Rochelle Ruth of Henryetta,OK,Son: Gary McGill of Texas,Granddaughters: Heather Hostutler of Great Falls, MT., Jennifer Hostetler of Kilispell, MT,Grandsons: Colby Ruth and wife Autumn of Oklahoma City,Ryan Ruth and wife Crystal of Henryetta, Great Grandchildren: Brittany and Blake,Sister: Leta Mayfield of Sand Springs,Ok.

Graveside Memorial Service will be held 2:00pm, Saturday, September 9, 2006 at the Woodland Cemetery in Sand Springs,OK under the direction of the Rogers Funeral Home.
