Marie Thomason Beymer, age 85 of Muskogee passed away March 2, 2007 at home surrounded by her loved ones.

Marie was born in Wetumka, OK on March 5, 1921 to John and Ruby(Cook) Thomason. She graduated from Wetumka High School in 1938 and married her high school sweetheart, Walter Edmond Beymer on October 12, 1940. They were married 43 years before his death in 1985.

Marie moved to Henryetta, OK in 1945 and made her home there for fifty-four years before moving to Muskogee in 1999. She and her husband, Walt, owned and operated Walt’s DX and Main Motor Company from 1949-1984. She was the bookkeeper for their AMC/Jeep dealership for over thirty years. She was also the Tag Agent in Henryetta for ten years. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Muskogee and the Senior Co-Ed Sunday School Class. She was a long time member of Immanuel Baptist Church of Henryetta, serving as Director of the Intermediate Department and later as the Secretary of Sunday Schools’. She taught Sunday School at First Baptist Church, Henryetta and was a member of the Dorcas Sunday School Class, She was also a member of the Trotter Toppers Travel group and took many trips with them each year. Marie was an avid gardener, loved to travel, and a wonderful cook.. She also was a charter member of the Henryetta Clover Leaf Crochet Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents: infant son, George; husband, Walter. Two brothers: Dallas and Bobby Thomason. Two sisters: Lorene Mangrum and Evelyn Franklin.

She is survived by son, Jim Beymer and wife, Barbara of Henryetta; daughter, Linda Milton and husband, Mike of Muskogee. Four grandchildren: Brenda Chapman and husband, Lance of Norman; Dr. James Beymer and wife, Susan of Tulsa; Brooke Milton of Fayetteville, AR and Ashley Milton of Tahlequah. Four great-grandchildren: Ryan and Keely Chapman; Emily and Nathan Beymer. One brother; Marvin Thomason and wife, Virginia of Pharoah. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and a hosts of friends.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 5, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Henryetta with Pastor Jim Paslay and Brother Louis Havener. Interment will be at West Lawn Cemetery under the direction of Rogers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, Henryetta,
