Dennis Wayne Berno , 56, of Tulsa. Born May 9, 1951 in Henrietta, OK to Millie Keith and Omer Lee Berno, Sr. Dennis moved to Heaven on Saturday,
November 3rd, 2007 after a long illness.
Dennis graduated from Dewar High School in 1969 and attended the culinary program at OSU Okmulgee. His culinary talents were enjoyed by many
guests at The Hungry Traveler, the Pig Out Restaurant, Holiday Inn Buffet and Restaurant, and South 40 Steakhouse, all in Henryetta.
In 1991, he joined the staff at St. John Medical Center’s Food and Nutrition Services, working there until 2005. He represented St. John
frequently on KOTV’s Get Cookin’ segment. Dennis was a friend to all, and a best friend to many. His true joys were making a difference
in the lives of others, especially children; preparing wonderful meals for his family, friends, customers and patients; people recognizing
him from TV; anything to do with celebrities, especially Hayley Mills and Barbra Streisand; and the antics of his dog, Sadie. He will be deeply
missed, yet we find comfort in the fact that we will see him again.
Services will be held on Thursday, November 8th, at the First Baptist Church in Henryetta, Ok with Rev. Jim Paslay officiating .
Interment will follow at the Westlawn Cemetery in Henryetta under the direction of Rogers Funeral Home.
