St. Luke's Cemetery
aka St. Luke Baptist Missionary Church Cemetery
Oklahoma County, Oklahoma

SE 1/4, Sec. 13, T14N, R1E, I.M.

Survey © 2000-07 by: Robert Farrar

St. Luke's Cemetery is located on NE 206th St. {Covell Rd}, 1/2 mile west of Pottawatomie Rd. From the Oklahoma City area, take I-35 north to State Highway 66 {exit 141} and go right {east} for 15.5 miles to N. Harrah Rd. Turn left {north} on Harrah Rd. and go one mile to NE 206th St. Turn right and go 1/2 mile. The cemetery is on the left {north} side of the road.

John B. Greenhoward was the original owner of the land on which St. Luke Cemetery is located. He paid $1,000.00 and received a certificate of purchase for the land from the Commissioner of Land Office May 9, 1910. The St. Luke's Missionary Baptist Church also received a patent for 2 acres of land on April 7, 1920 from the Commissioner of the Land Office. A person familiar with the area says the land for the church was donated by a man named Greer Howard, also known as "Nero". The St. Luke's Church that was associated with the cemetery was torn down long ago. The date is not known. The cemetery grounds are maintained by personnel from the nearby Tillman Cemetery's Tillman-Watson Association. {Information obtained from OK County Cemetery Index - compiled by OK County HCE Genealogy Group, page 99.}
