SAMUEL T. MYERS, CIVIL WAR VETERAN, AT REST
Funeral services for Samuel Taylor Myers, aged 90 years, 10 months and five days, Union veteran of the Civil War, were held at the Christian church at 2:30, Tuesday afternoon. Rev. Pettit, officiating. Mr. Myers passed away June 30, at his home in this city. He had been confined to his bed since last January, when he fell and fractured a hip bone.
He was numbered among the last survivors in Edmond of the Civil War. His only surviving comrades are George Fox and N. Hawthorne. Mr. Fox is confined to the house and was unable to attend the funeral. These honors were paid by Mr. Hawthorne. The American Legion participated in the services.
Burial was in the Myers cemetery, six miles southeast of Edmond. Baggerley funeral directors were in charge.
