The land for Christner Cemetery was donated by Joseph M. and Ida B. Christner. Family tradition says a tornado went through and killed the young son of a neighbor. They had no money and Uncle Joe gave them a burial space and dedicated this land as a cemetery. In later years the Christner/Lenhart Family Cemetery Assoc. {now called Christner, Burright, Lenhart} received some oil money and bought a strip of land on the east edge, where the east entrance is now located.
