Iva B. Welchel-Cannon

Iva B. Sumner was born in Laverne, Oklahoma to Arthur and Isabell Sumner. Her family also included eight brothers and sisters.

She married Chattie Houston Welchel on August 17, 1939 in Chickasha, Oklahoma.

They had seven children; four sons and three daughters; Jurl Welchel and his wife Vicki of Choctaw, Oklahoma; Don Welchel of Midwest City, Oklahoma; Dale Welchel and his wife Lola of Nicoma Park, Oklahoma; Dennis Welchel and his wife Diane of Midwest City, Oklahoma; Christine Perkins and her husband Jerry of Harrah, Oklahoma; Nancy O'Hagan and her husband Michael of Nicoma Park, Oklahoma; and Nadine Welchel who preceded her in death; twenty three grandchildren; forty three great grandchildren; and two great grandchildren on the way.

She was a loving, caring and energetic mother.

She was a member of the American Legion Post 170 where she had many friends.

Services will be at 11:00, Tuesday, December 31, 2002 at Dickson Baptist Church with burial at Arlington Memory Gardens.
