Edith M. Berry Cooksey
 

COOKSEY Edith M., 80, passed away Dec. 24, 2000 at Mercy Hospital. She was born Sept. 7, 1920 in Oklahoma City to James and Eda Berry. Edith graduated from Business College and worked as a secretary. She retired from the City of Oklahoma City in 1987.
Edith deeply loved all of her pets, and never turned away a stray. She was also an avid football fan and a fantastic cook.
Edith was preceded in death by her husband, Neil Cooksey; a son, Ron Stew art; her parents; and two sisters, Theresa and Anna May.
Survivors include her daughter, Susan Cooksey of OKC; son, Phil Cooksey of Edmond, OK; eight grandchildren, Phil Cooksey, Jr. of Midwest City, OK, Jessica and Kathryn Cooksey, both of Houston, TX, Tim Waller of OKC; Cheryl Berry of Norman, OK. Lori Blackowl of OKC, Tricia Llewellyn and husband, Travis of Bethany, OK, James Stewart and wife, Velma of Bethany, OK; five great grandchildren, Victoria and Mason Cooksey, Cameron and Zachary Llewellyn, and Madison Stewart.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, Dec. 29, 2000 at the North Colonial Chapel of Vondel L. Smith & Son Mortuary. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Edie's love of life and her humor will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched. Memorial donations may be made to the Second Chance Animal Sanctuary in Norman, OK.
