Services were held Wednesday, March 4 at 1 p.m. for Harry J. McElroy at the Webb Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Paul Westbrook of Okla. City officiating. McElroy died March 1 in the South Community Hospital in Okla. City at the age of 74.
He was born Oct. 21, 1912 in Okemah. He was a retired oil field foreman, having worked in the oil fields in Oklahoma for many years.
Survivors include his wife; Mrs. Lena Sullivan McElroy, Okla. City; three sons, Wayne D. McElroy, Tacoma, Washington, Norman E. McElroy, Okla. City; and St. Sgt. James E. McElroy, Burgstron A. F. B.,; Austin, Texas; three daughters; Patricia A. Shuffield, Newalla, Eva Moore, Okla. City, and Marlene K. Jones, Midwest City; two sisters, Jessie Therrien, Vallejo, Calif, and June Crumpley, Kansas City, Mo.; four brothers, Jack McElroy, Okla. City, Paul McElroy, Okemah, Jimmy McElroy, Cromwell, and Woodrow McElroy, Kansas City, Mo.; 19 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were Jack Sullivan, Dan Perkins, Danny Perkins, Rick Perkins, Rickey Perkins and Charles Sullivan.
Interment was in the Morse Cemetery under the direction of the Webbs Funeral Service.
