Funeral services for Willis Waverly Allen, 75, were held Monday afternoon at 2 p.m. in the Parks Brothers Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Carl Clay officiating. Allen was dead on arrival at the Creek Nation Community Hospital on Dec. 27 after suffering an apparant heart attack at his home.
Allen was born at Council Bluff, Iowa on March 2, 1911. He came with his parents to Okfuskee County in 1917 and had lived here since that time. He was married to Miss Mary E. Pinion at Wewoka on March 15, 1934.
Allen was a prominent farmer and cattle rancher in this area. In addition, he owned and operated the Allen Auto Salvage which he founded in 1953.
Survivors include his wife of the home, Mrs. Mary E. Allen; one son, Harry Allen, Star Route, Castle; one daughter, Mrs. Ramona York, Star Route, Castle; one brother, Delmar Allen, Okemah; fie grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were John Bradley, Lloyd Shannon, Randy Titsworth, DOn L. Shannon, Dale White and Gene Speir.
Interment was in the Highland Cemetery under the direction of the Parks Brothers Funeral Home.
