Connie (Dabbs) McKee

Connie McKee, age 102, of Altus, passed away early Tuesday morning, February 7, 2012, at English Village Manor, in Altus.

Mrs. McKee was born on January 21, 1910, in Childress County Texas, to Robert Clayton and Virgie (Conrad) Dabbs. Moving to Harmon County in 1915, she began school at Hollis and graduated from Westview School. On December 31, 1954, she married Norman Eddie McKee, in Vernon, Texas and he preceded her in death on December 23, 2003, after nearly forty-nine wonderful years of marriage. They established their first home in Vernon where Eddie worked for Lone Star Gas Company form many years. In early 2003, they moved to Altus, to be near family, where Connie lived until her death. In her spare time she loved crocheting items for others and spending time with her family and friends.

Preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sisters, Vera Duvall and Odessa Dabbs and two brothers, Leroy Dabbs and Arnold Dabbs.

She is survived by two sisters, Ruby Burch of Herford, Texas and Mildred Edmonson of Hollis; four nieces, Wynell Bolden and husband Travis, Gwen Collier and husband Jimmy, Donnie Asbury and Carol Yates and husband Wayne and one nephew, James Paul Burch and wife Alice along with many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Connie McKee will be at 3 p.m., Wednesday, February 8, 2012, at Harmon County Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jim Fishback officiating. Private interment will follow the service under the direction of Harmon County Funeral Home of Hollis.
