Georgina Louise (Libby) Dorton
October 25, 1939 ~ May 5, 2024

Georgina Louise Dorton, 84, of Blanchard, died Sunday, May 5, 2024, in Blanchard, Oklahoma. The daughter of Joseph Arthur Libby and Pearl Bell (Cross) Libby, she was born October 25, 1939, in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan.

Louise married Vernon Prescott Dorton on September 6, 1958, in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Oklahoma Gem and Mineral Society. In her spare time, she enjoyed scrapbooking, needlepoint, and cross-stitch. She and her husband loved going to OU football games and traveling. She always looked forward to her annual trip back to Michigan to visit family. Her greatest enjoyment came from spending time with her grandkids. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and nine siblings, Irene, Jack, Mary Jean, Gloria, Tom, Vera, Charles, Lloyd, and Annabelle.

Louise is survived by her husband of 65 years, Vernon Dorton of Mustang; one son, James Dorton of Burleson, Texas; one daughter, Linda Carl and husband, Allen, of Fulton, Kentucky; five grandchildren, Cody Dorton and wife, Ana, of Kansas City, Kansas, Molly Dorton of Joshua, Texas, Westley Dorton and wife, C.J., of Akron, Ohio, Sadie Gallatin and husband, Dustin, of Paducah, Kentucky, and Gracie Carl of South Fulton, Tennessee; five great grandchildren; one brother, Don Libby of Onaway, Michigan; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.

The family will hold a memorial service at 1:00 P.M., Friday, May 10, 2024, at the Laurel Springs Clubhouse, North Laurel Terrace, Mustang, OK 73064. Arrangements are under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home of Blanchard. Online obituary and guestbook are available at
