Marguerite "Maggie" (Hedman) (Allsup) Garrett

Marguerite (Maggie) Garrett went on to be with Lord November 27, 2016 at the age of 90. She had been a resident of the Osage Nursing Center where she received very special and loving care for almost three months.

Maggie was born March 25, 1926 in Bartlesville, OK to Carl and Nellie Hedman. She grew up in Dewey, OK with three brothers, Carl Jr., Leonard, and Arvid and attended Dewey Public Schools. She married Blaine Garrett on March 20, 1945. They lived and raised their two daughters on a ranch in Nowata county. Maggie was a loving and devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed arts and crafts and was well known for her heirloom pillow case dolls. She was an avid golfer until the age of 83 and had been a member of the Nowata and Adams Golf Associations.

Her husband Blaine passed away in 1993 after 48 years of marriage. In 1998 Maggie married Johnny Allsup of Lenepah, OK. They made their home in Port Isabel, TX where Johnny passed away in December 2001 just three days before their third anniversary. A few years later, Maggie returned to OK. After selling her ranch she moved to Grove, OK where she resided with her daughter Jo.

Besides her two husbands, Maggie was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son, Dennis, and her three brothers.

She is survived by her daughter Dee Ann Hough and her husband Mike, long time residents of Nowata before moving to Bartlesville; her daughter Jo Garrett of Grove, OK; two grandsons, Michael Hough and his wife Andra of Bartlesville, and Kris Garrett of Tulsa, OK; four great grandchildren, J.J., Layla, and Henry Hough of Bartlesville, and Andryk Garrett of Tulsa; and many nieces and nephews.


A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 7 at 2:00 p.m. at Living Word Family Church in Nowata.
