Billy Shearhart, 91, passed away at the Claremore Veterans Center on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at 5:45 pm.

Billy was born in Coffeyville, Kansas on October 6, 1925 to parents Jewel D. and Hattie Belle (Capps) Shearhart. Billy attended school in Delaware, Oklahoma and after high school graduation he joined the US Navy. Billy was very proud of his service to his country during WWII and spoke often of his travels while in the Navy.

Billy enjoyed travelling and fishing throughout his lifetime and was a talented machinist and fabricator. Billy and his brother, O. D. Shearhart had a machine shop in Nowata and also started Sooner Oil Tools which they designed and patented downhole oilfield equipment.
Billy married Shirley DeLozier on June 22, 1973 in Nowata, Oklahoma.

Shirley preceded him in death on March 5, 2016.

Billy is survived by nieces and nephews; Steve and Jennifer Shearhart and sons Jewel and Israel of Broken Arrow; Julie and Rich Thompson and children, Aarron, Katety, Ben of Owasso; Debbie and Mike Fink of Nowata; Jim and Debbie DeLozier of Watova; Ed and Lori DeLozier of Tulsa; Jessica DeLozier of Seeknon, MA; Jennifer DeLozier of Pawtucket, RI; and numerous great-nieces and nephews; brother-in-law John DeLozier and wife Jackie of Southbridge, MA; sister-in-law Ruth DeLozier of Nowata.
