Funeral services for life long Nowata resident, Robert W. Melton will be held 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 4, 2013, at Hillside Christian Church, in Nowata, with Mr. Ben Killion officiating. Interment will follow at Nowata Memorial Park Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 2:00 – 5:00, Sunday, March 3, 2013. Services are entrusted to Benjamin Funeral Service, of Nowata.

Robert Watt Melton passed from this life at Grace Living Center in Edmond, Oklahoma, Friday, February 28, 2013. He was born October 9, 1925 to Watt Morton and Daisey Marie (Profitt) Melton in Adair, Oklahoma. Bob was educated in Nowata Public Schools and was a graduate of the Class of 1944. Mr. Melton proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. On June 11, 1955 he married Margie Jane Valk in Nowata, Oklahoma. They made their home in Nowata and owned Melton Service and Appliance in Nowata for many years. He was a past member of the VFW and loved to tinker and fix things. He will be missed by many family members and friends.

Robert is survived by his wife, Margie Jane Melton of the home, a daughter, Brenda Stanley and husband David of Oklahoma City; two grandchildren, Rob Stanley and wife Emmy, Beth Butler and husband Brian; two great grandchildren, Lilli and Carter Stanley. He is preceded in death by his parents, a son, Shawn Melton, a brother, Doug Melton, and a sister, Hazel Jorgensen.

Memorials in Robert's name may be donated to Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation at 825 NE 13th, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73104. Online condolences may be left at honoringmemories.com.
