Rev. Ben Harvey Benefiel, 90, died at 3:22 p. m. friday at the Medicalodge Nursing Home at Dewey.
Funeral services for Rev. Benefiel will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Srumpff Nowata Funeral Home Chspel with Rev. Roy Parnell of Collinsville officiating. Interment will be in the Nowata Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of the Stumpff Nowata Funeral Home.
Friends who wish may call for visitation at the Stumpff Nowata Funeral Home until the service hour on Tuesday.
A memorial has been established to the New Hope Assembly of God, P O Box 210 Dewey, Ok. 74020
Rev. Benefiel was born on July 27, 1904 at Cleveland on a houseboat, to Peter M. And Amanda (Shepherd) Benefiel. He grew up in the Romona and Oglesby area and was married to Pearl Norton on September 20, 1929 at Nowata.
They made there home in various locations including Drumright, Arkansas City, Ks., Bartlesville, Winfield, Ks. Van Buren,Ark., Nowata and Jay, Ok. where Rev. Benefiel served as pastor in various churches of the Apolistic Faith.
Rev. Benefiel had also been employed by the city of Bartlesville until his retirement 30 years ago. Rev. and Mrs. Benefiel moved to Nowata to make their home and Mrs. Benefiel preceded him in death on March 5, 1982.
Following Mrs. Benefiel's death, he made his home in Grove until moving to Bartlesville in March 1992.
Rev. Benefiel is survived by two sons, Rev. Bill Benefiel and Eddie Benefiel both of Bartlesville, a daughter, Mrs. Evon Stark of Childress, 12 grandchildren and 10 greatgrandchildren.
Rev. Benefiel was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, one sister, one daughter Mary Ann White on Jan. 30, 1969 and two grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Stumpff Nowata Funeral Home.
