DAVIS FAMILY FUNERAL HOME
DEWEY, WASHINGTON CO, OK
(permission granted)

Thomas Ernest Thiele, 63, lifelong area resident, passed away in Bartlesville.

Thomas, affectionately known as Tom, was born the son of Robert Lee and Caroline (Cooper) Thiele, on October 2, 1954, in Coffeyville, Kansas. Tom may have been born in Kansas, but his family lived in Lenapah, OK. While still a child Tom lived one year in Amarillo, Texas, before his family moved back to Lenapah. At age 9 he moved to Dewey where he spent the rest of his childhood and gained his education attending Dewey Schools with the Class of 1972.

After school, Tom felt the need to serve his country, so he joined the United States Army. After leaving the Army, he moved back to Lenapah and worked in South Coffeyville. Next, Tom moved back to Dewey where he began working for Phillips Petroleum Co. He then began working for DELP as an Over the Road (OTR) truck driver where the highlight of his job was getting to see the country he loved. He also worked in maintenance at John Brown University, in Siloam Springs AR.

Tom enjoyed hunting, fishing, and anything to do with the outdoors. Tom was a natural salesman - he was always buying, selling and trading. Tom would buy storage lockers and somehow would always “come out on the good” even if he had to trade in unusual ways. Tom was even known to trade for haircuts and meals at the Half Dollar café in Dewey. He could sell anything to anybody, and as Tom always said, “Never Go Broke Takin’ a Profit.”

Tom is survived by his mother Caroline Scott; eight siblings, Bobby Thiele of Dewey, Homer Scott Jr. of Dewey, Kay Anderson of Bartlesville, Tom Scott of Copan , Bill Scott of Caney, Janice Finney of Niotaze, Dale Scott of Bartlesville, Carol Weaver of Bartlesville; three cherished daughters, Wendi Tatum and Robert of Dewey, Caroline Thurman and Jared of Westville, Jennifer Peoples and Dean of Dewey; nine grandchildren, Devin, Debra, Hunter, JW, Emmalee, Cheyanne, Kayson, Miranda, Molly; five great grandchildren, Carson, Riley, Draven, Jordan, Aurora; and a host of other loved family members.

Tom is preceded in death by his father Robert Thiele, step father Homer Scott, and two sisters, Janice Kay Voris, and Gina Cook.

Visitation will be held Saturday from 12-5 and Sunday, 12-8. Tom’s family will receive friends Sunday from 6-8 at the Davis Family Funeral Home – Dewey Chapel, 918-534-3030, 113 S. Osage (Hwy. 75), Dewey.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, June 25, at the Matoaka Baptist Church , with Pastor Sherman Jaquess officiating.

Interment will follow in the Mount Washington Cemetery in Lenapah, OK. Services are under the direction of Carter Davis and the Davis Family Funeral Home.

Online condolences and remembrances may be shared with Tom’s family at www.DavisFamilyFuneralHome.com.
