Carla S. (McKellips) Klingsick, 61-year-old Lenapah resident, passed away Sunday, July 30, 2006 at the Coffeyville Regional Medical in Coffeyville, Kansas.

Funeral services for Mrs. Klingsick will be held at 11:00a.m., Thursday, August 3, 2006 at the Southview Church of God in South Coffeyville, Oklahoma. Interment will follow in the Mt. Washington Cemetery in Lenapah. The family has asked that memorial contributions be made to the Southview Church of God. On-line condolences can be left at honoringmemories.com. Services are under the direction of the Benjamin Funeral Home of Nowata.

Carla Klingsick was born February 18, 1945 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma to Carl McKellips and Kathryn Hicks-McKellips. She attended school in South Coffeyville and married Louis Klingsick, Jr. on June 1, 1962. Mrs. Klingsick worked as a waitress for the 81 Café for several years and also as a custodian and cook for the Kingfisher High School. Most recently, Mrs. Klingsick was working as a department manager for Wal-Mart in Coffeyville.

Mrs. Klingsick was a member of the Southview Church of God, where she helped teach the Children's Sunday School Class. Mrs. Klingsick was a devout Oklahoma Sooner fan who also enjoyed bowling and playing Bingo. She spent a great deal of time tending to her tomatoes and crafting ceramics. Mrs. Klingsick also enjoyed camping and fishing and took great pride and joy watching her kids and grandkids in their sporting activities.

Mrs. Klingsick is survived by four sons, Wayde Klingsick of Liberty, Kansas, Billy Klingsick of Yukon, Oklahoma, Carl Klingsick of Independence, Kansas, and Perry Klingsick of Tulsa; by one daughter, Vicki James of Lenapah; by two sisters, Marita Kerns of Liberty and Jeanne Ledbetter of Tulsa; one brother, Dean McKellips of Foyil; by ten grandchildren, Zachary, Codie, Jacob, Casey, Diana, Jana, David, Danny, Chance, and Alex; and by three great-grandsons. She was preceded in death by her parents and by her husband on January 20, 2001.
