DUMAS - Beulah May Brady Wells, 90, died
Sunday, April 28, 2002.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in First
Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Dumas
Cemetery by Morrison Funeral Directors.
Mrs. Wells was born Jan. 8, 1912, in Nowata,
Okla., to William Robert Brady and Martha Ann
"Cricket" Hitchens Brady.
She married John Clair Wells on June 5, 1935, in
Nowata. She lived in Panhandle since her marriage
and lived in Dumas the last 42 years.
A homemaker in every sense of the word, her home was one of warmth,
laughter and love. She supported all of her daughters' activities. She shared her
homemaking skills with many children and young people, giving them the
confidence to try and permission to fail.
Participation and support of church activities, especially those involving youth,
were important to her. Until her death, young people came to her knowing she
would accept them with unconditional love.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, John; a daughter,
Patricia Ann; three brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include two daughters, Nancy Gail Curnutt and husband, Jerry, and
Mary Kay Wells and husband, Bob Reed; four grandchildren and three
great-grandchildren, Kelly Joe Curnut and wife, Mary Tom, and their sons,
Riley Denton and Thomas Cravens; Kevin Sean Curnutt, Scott Brady Carr;
and Krista Kay Carr and her daughter, Sydney Kay Carr; a sister, Martha
Hanner of Nahcotta, Wash.; four nieces; and two nephews.
The family suggests memorials be to LOGOs Youth Program of First
Presbyterian Church; Olivia's Angels, volunteer support group of BSA
Hospice, P.O. Box 950, Amarillo, TX 79176; or a favorite charity.
