Funeral services for Bobby "Bob" Gene Barnes, are 10:00 A.M., Saturday, March 17, 2018 at the Hillside Christian Church with Pastor Van Longbons officiating.

Interment will follow at McMains Cemetery in Childers, Oklahoma.

Family will be receiving friends on Friday, March 16, 2018 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Benjamin Funeral Home in Nowata, Oklahoma.

Bobby "Bob" Gene Barnes, 79, passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at Journey Home Bartlesville, Oklahoma. He was born November 27, 1938 in Claremore, Oklahoma to William Edward Sr. and Marguerite Moore Barnes. A native of Nowata, Bob attained a bachelor's degree in education of which he utilized at Alluwe Public School for many years until retiring in 2002. Bob held multiple positions that included bus driver, physical education, mathematics teacher, athletic coach and ending with principal.
Creating joy and caring for other, Bob was forever a family man. Anyone who had known Bob knew that he loved being able to put a smile on everyone's face

Bob is preceded in death by his parents William and Marguerite Barnes,; Two brothers; Jim and Danny Barnes, One Son: Troy Barnes, two Granddaughters; Jolene "Nicki" and Jody.

Bob is survived by his four children; Tina Inman and her husband Jerry, Toby Barnes and his wife Mechelle, Bobbette Riddle and her husband Russell, Curtis Barnes and his wife Tasicia. Bob will also be fondly remembered by his thirteen grandchildren, Jamie and her husband Stephen, Jessica, Lacey, Colby and his wife Desiree, Nathaniel, Atosha, Kelby, Keith and his wife Adrienne, Joby and his wife Casey, Brittany and her husband Kyle, Paige, Calena, and Augustus "Gus".

In addition to Bob's legacy, he will be forever remembered by so many friends and will be missed by everyone who knew him.
